Just to point out, Martin's (excellent) alignment tables are for classic TLs rather than mass-loaded pipes, unless you class reverse-taper pipes as being inherently mass-loaded.

I have ordered the Seas drivers and will build the enclosures as modeled by Scottmoose at the first of the post. My question is on enclosure bracing, it appears to me that extensive bracing is not required. But if you look at the Pensil design it is quite extensive. Having built Zaph wave quide and ZA5.5 speakers simple cross bracing should be sufficient. Plan on using BB plywood with solid wood stills. Thanks

I'd certainly be bracing panels that wide.

Something like this would be a minimum. Cross-bracing with dowels or the such is not nearly as effective.

1/4" birch with no bracing at all.

Breezer is a design by Holger Barske and Christian Gather. The goal: come up with simple means to an excellent result and to create something unusual.

For this, the full range Seas FA22RCZ in a housing was used with a triangular floor plan. Another inspiration came from the classic "Voice of the Theatre", which has a large hole near the bottom. This would reproduce the editors. This results in an open bottom box.
It consists of a trap and an impedance correction for valve amps.

I notice full range guys use fiberglass or poly for linning the enclosure sides, has any one used acoustic foam or sonic barrier for the linning (not stuffing). I have had good results using these products for bass reflex type enclosures. I can go either way just curious.

Actually many of us use cotton or wool felt. I'm not a big fan of acoustic foam. And one has to question whether sonic barrier is an acoustic damping material at all.

I smoothed the response of the new SEAS wideband by coating the wizzer cone plus LCR trap. I got it flat to plus-minus 3dB on the design axis. We played the Breezer against my speaker ( i just call it "Oneway") at the Frickelfest Light Party on the weekend at the Klang & Ton headquarters and people where pleased about the diffence.

The litle dome inside the wizzer was treated with a polymer to make it stiffer. The wizzer itself was treated with a natural resin that is somewhat softer. The LCR trap was 8.8 Ohm, 0.77mH and 3.2uF.

Karsten, the unmodified SEAS was in the Breeze and my modified SEAS was in a multichamber reflex box i am currently working on. On HBs website you can see some pictures.
