Hi, How about this SEAS fullrange instead of Lowther PM7 in Acousta 115 New- backloaded horn?
Interesting construction it's many horn constructions out there and i can't build them all. So i have to find a way to simulate the result
Now the element has played in the reflex box for some hours with 0,82mh and 6,8ohm damping as described in seas app note. the sound is rich and detailed with good bass respons.
But i realy want to get more extencion in the bass respons so horn is the way to go i guess then maybe its possible with less damping of the driver And i happen to belive that less is more

Maybe i should look into that option to see what its all about.
Thanks for the link

If you use the calc; http://www.zillaaudio.com/bib/BIB_166_GM_v2.xls
you will see that you need a big box (Bigger Is Better )
D: 74.50 cm
W: 52.46 cm
H: 222.98 cm

I've been thinking of an FR driver, and I think this might be the one.

In my opinion its a very good driver with a rich soundstage So i think its a good deal And when it comes to find the perfect box for this drivers the more the merrier
0,82mh and 6,8ohm damping:
Humm for what I read on other FR this kill some life.. sure kill some db , put this on 91db not bad but too low for my tube amp....
I tought i got a bit heavely damped. so i will try i lighter damping but i need
a calculator to find the right values for the inductor and resistans.
Nice pictures Now the fun can begin
Hi Nikko..... the sound is rich and detailed with good bass respons.
what about the sweet spot ?
Is this a "one-person-speaker" or has it a wider sweet spot ?
Thanks for reply.

Hi Joern
In my test boxes with a fairly wide baffel i would say it have a wider sweetspot than my H6 clones. It does not sound the same in every corner of the room but then again very few loudspeakers does
After some houres with different music i realy think the driver is value for money.
And it should be possible to make a great sounding loudspeaker out of it
HI Nikko I'm lost on tubes amp but here nice Pass paper on FR http://www.firstwatt.com/pdf/art_cs_amps.pdf F1 or F2
