you know what is the problem?!
since i put the oscillator outside, the sharp case cut the choth of the wire and touch it ...... so the clk wire is GNDed.....

Re: Schematics from NEC!

Hi,

good news from NEC. I have requested schematics for the external SCSI drive - and guess what, I got it!

After giving them an additional call I am now even allowed to share/post the schematics - but I have to state that there is no support and no liability of NEC for the correctness of these plans.

I will get out my old scanner during the weekend and make scans of the schematics. Should I post them here or can somebody provide some external webspace - IIRC there are 10 pages?

Bye,
Christian

If you get that scanner working or some method to digitalize them, email me @ hughes@koolscooby.net and i can post them on http://picturehost.koolscooby.net for you :) (THis counts for other members too that have projects they'd like to show)...

GOod luck! :)

Scans are ready - Call for Webspace!

Hi,

The scanner at work did it - so now I have 10 files with a total size of 2.95MB. Some scans are quite huge, as I did not want to loose too much details.

Important are maybe 5 files - 1.7MB - showing the PSU, audio circuits and three rather complicated schematics (servo, efm, system control, scsi control, ecc) that include the different clocks.

So here is my call for webspace: Who can manage that volume in the inbox and on the webpage?

Please send your offer to cmast at web dot de

and pls notice that "NEC will offer no support and will not guarantee the correctness of the schematics. Whatever you do, they are not responsible for any damage or health risk. And, I assume, not for commercial use."

thanks

@mlloyd1: I get the same picture that I have scanned - maybe your browser has messed up the download? Try pressing Control when hitting the RELOAD button

@fmak: Sorry to hear that, its working for me (Windows ME, Mozilla 1.5)

Thanks to Takashi for providing the webspace!

Re: thanks!

OK, I'll try again later. I flushed the cache. My last attempt just moments ago was still not successful. :(

I just needed to hear that someone other than Takashi and Coma (who may have the files sitting on their harddrive) was able to successfully and completely download the entire image. All the other images worked fine - this was a strange problem to me :xeye:

Again, thanks to Coma and Takashi for making these available. I must admit, I didn't really think anyone would get schematics for this drive from NEC. A toast to you both! :drink: :drink:

Also available as a PDF now

hi

i combined the images into one PDF file. the combined file is available for download at:

http://www.mit.edu/~sarin/audio/NEC-CDR602.pdf

the circuit board image in the original scan is barely decipherable though. maybe a better scan is needed?

also, the CXD2510Q datasheet is only available in japanese. i believe the link to www.sony.co.jp was posted earlier in this this thread.

the english version of CXD2508AQ, a similar chip (?) is available here:

http://products.sel.sony.com/semi/PDF/CXD2508AQ.pdf

@psarin: Sorry, but the scan is as good as it gets - the copies I received are pretty bad, especially the circuit board. Looks like the copy machine was not able to deal with the gray tones. On top of that the original was not lying flat on the glas, my copy is quite wavy.
