What about IRF530/9530 instead of 510/9510?
And J310 for J309?

What are the matching criteria for BC546 - J309(10)?

well , you can still use 520/9520 ; 530/9530 have too much capacitance for my liking

J309 or J310 - whatever

just match left 309with right 309
same - match left BC with right BC

hehe

yup;

fully tested , and it's functional ;

just few pics before opening new thread , because Pumpkin package is now finished , including fully tested main board(s) and fully tested reg board(s) .

conditions as intended :

input around 40+ Vac (twice that for both reg legs ) resulting in ~ 60Vdc at input of series reg part ;
after series reg part voltage is healthy 45Vdc ,then CCS pumps ~140mA ,then shunt part eats whatever is left from 470 ohms resistor at output , regulating entire gadget's output to 36Vdc ....... brownie load resistor eats ~ 75mA .......

apply same story for negative leg of Shunty
