Potential GB for Jensen transformers for Sony VFET project

Hello,

I've been quite sick for about a week and haven't checked the forum.
It looks like the expressed preference is for the wired transformer.

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding that I am running a GB.
I started this thread to see if there is sufficient interest to
warrant a GB. I'm in Canada and it makes little economic sense for
me to run a GB. (The transformers will need to be shipped to
me, and then redistributed. There will be fees for importing them,
etc. It makes more sense if a US-based member handles this. However,
if no volunteer comes forward, I would be happy to help.)

That said, I did fire off an email to Jensen yesterday with a few
questions:

1) Is there an electrical difference between the two transformers
JT-112-LCF and JT-123-FLPCH?

2) What are the shipping weights of the individual transformers?

3) What is the lead time for 40+ pieces?

4) To get a 'volume discount', would it need to be a single order
or can members place them individually? What about a single order
with multiple shipping addresses, etc? (Possibly one package sent
per country.)

I also asked if they might consider a diyaudio.com discount.

I have not yet received a reply from Jensen. I will update you when
I have more info.

We are aware that Mr. Pass has been publishing designs on the diyaudio forum that use some Jensen transformer models. The most current one that he has posted shows our wire lead based output transformer model JT-112-LCF. This model is electrically equivalent to the pc board version, model JT-123-FLPCH. I do see where you pointed out that there are different specs listed on the two data sheets. We apologize for the confusing data. The measurement results we conducted back when we were creating all our data sheet for our website should have been much closer together.

Please note that the JT-112-LCF is a quadfilar (4 winding) transformer, as is the JT-123- FLPCH, and other quadfilar models listed in our "Line Output" section of our website, such as the JT-123-SLCF and JT-123-BLCF. However, the JT-112-LCF was given a model number that did not conform with the other JT-123 series. For many years we have been wanting to change the JT-112-LCF's part number over to JT-123-FLCF, so that it would conform with the other quadfilar output transformer models.

Since Mr. Pass has posted his new design, we have been getting inquiries and orders for the JT-112-LCF. However, we did not have stock on them, so since we are doing a new production run of these to have them available for diyaudio members, we are going to take the opportunity now to formally renamed the JT-112-LCF as the JT-123-FLCF.

Your cost for 40 pcs. of the JT-123-FLCF would be the $34.30 each that you found on our website price list. Please note that if you can get enough members interested to get up to 48 pcs., the per piece price would become $31.90 each.

The JT-123-FLPCH weighs 3.2 ounces/94 grams. The JT-123-FLCF will weigh approx. 3.6 ounces/102 grams. I am weighing the bifilar model JT-11-FLCF in place of the out of stock JT-123-FLCF.

Lead time for the newly renumbered JT-123-FLCF will be approx. 2 weeks or so after receipt of your order. We have a production run of JT-123-FLPCH's that is nearly done, so lead time on a quantity of the pc board version would be approx. 1 week after receipt of your order.

Shipping cost will be depend upon how many you order, where you are located, and what shipping method we use. We prefer either UPS, or USPS Priority Flat Rate service.

When you are ready, you can place an order for the transformers with Teresa Delgado at our order desk by phone, fax or email. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
