My wife asked, "Why you drank so much tonight?"
I said, "I lost the cork." :D

That was really inspiring.
I tried this:
Silicon nozzles. The hole is too big but then i have these little white pvc with copper treads inside them. The treads don't fit (it will be great if it does), so I use a washer and nut to put them back. I hope the copper treads inside won't give any problem. Now there's some distance between the transformer and the auxiliary heat sink.
Thanks guys.

We just found an issue with one of the LEFT Conrad heat sink.
It is one tapped hole less. See the attached picture. I aligned
a good one on the top to show which hole is missing.

I have sent the bad news to the US case buyer to see whether anyone
has a drill press and tapping tool and is willing to tackle that. I think
send it to Front Panel and Conrad to tap one hole will be simply too costly
and raise he question of who is paying for it ..... The only option is really,
yeah what else, DIY. Patrick, Mark, or John, can you provide the specs of
this missing hole? Also, do you have an suggestion of any possible
options?

Thanks!!

That missing hole is the bottom corner of the F5X amp PCB.
It is on a 80x120mm rectangular pattern with the other 3 holes.

There are many ways round.

If you are a good DIYer, you can drill a 2.5mm blind hole 8mm deep.
(I have done this many times by hand with a battery drill.)
Then hand tap M3 till it bottoms.

If you are less skilled and are willing to accept some less cosmetics, you can drill through.
It is then much easier to tap, but not the option I prefer.

The easiest option is just leave it.
The PCB will not go anywhere with 3 standoffs and 4 Mosfet mounting screws in addition.

Sending to Conrad does not make sense, IMHO.

That is disappointing news.
The pair of heat sinks that I received to test fit are correct, the hole is not missing from my set.

Sorry guys I feel bad about this one, I will be taking this up with Julian.
Is this problem across the board? I want to know the extent.

:darkside:

I know others have already stated this, but I put together the case last night and I am extremely happy with the result. I put the transformers in the cradle to get an idea of weight and this is one solid chassis. Fantastic work Patrick and Mark. The design is extremely well thought out, and the fit and finish are exceptional. Definitely the nicest chassis I've had the pleasure of working with by far!

Greg,

Can I encourage to start a case build thread at the Pass forum ?
Dave is not using the XEN case right now, and I am sure the other case subscribers can profit from your experience.
It also forms a good platform for exchange of ideas and discuss solution to problems, if any.
(We don't expect any, but you never know.)

That is something I could probably do. Are you thinking I should start the thread off with some assembly instructions, photos and tips (similar to Dave's build thread)? Or just provide a link to the "assembly instructions" PDF file, and provide my feedback and tips?
