What I mean is that the 6P1P has data that looks a bit that those of 6AQ5, but it is still delivered in the noval socket. A sort of a 6BQ5 on diet.
All low power amp kits from China uses the 6P1P, or 6P1 as it is named in China.
I didn't mean that it would go directly into a 6AQ5 or 6BQ5 socket. Getting into the 7-pin 6AQ5 socket would need a hammer.

6P1P is the beam tetrode of 6V6 family. Describing it as the "noval 6AQ5" is pretty spot-on.
It's never mentioned to be the EL84/6BQ5/6P14P replacement as far as I know (and pinouts are different indeed). It wasn't even really popular in the Soviet Union, unlike the 6P14P and 6P6S (=6V6). We should thank China for popularizing it through their version.

I just finished by out board power supply for the 12GN7A driver tube for my GM70 amp. It also houses the power supply for the heaters for the GM70s.

Odd and cool stuff really. However some rubber grommets for the transformer wires would be recommended. Just in case ...

Cool!
Man after my own heart. I like them.
I like your work too.
soundbrigade,
What did you mean about the 6P1P?
My 2 Soviet Data sheets both show:
Plates maximum is 250V
Screen maximum is 250V
The 6BQ5 / EL84 is 300V max on plate and screen.
I've run the 6P1P triode strapped 300V/40mA for years... It's not like 250V is ok and 251V will destroy it I've even run a set at 300V/56mA and they still lasted for a year of 24/7 running.
I tend to prefer the 6P43P these days though. They make almost 10x the power in triode, too.
kodabmx,
A difference between 300V and 250V is Triode Wired versus Pentode/Beam, respectively.
Almost any tube can be run beyond its specifications.
Just try and run a semiconductor at 100 degrees C, and violate the SOA by 300/250
(20% over spec).
Your mileage may vary.

OMG dear djn this is a beautiful design.
Hybrid, but got tubes in it. And light bulbs!
Very nice DHLB (directly heated light bulbs)
