hey, pretty ugly amplifiers lately; i’ll just follow the trend.
It is not mine but is good for a few laughs.

Decware Zkit
There are some awesome builds on this site....I humbly post my first build. It is a Decware Zkit. see www.decware.com. copper plated trans, 18 gauge copper top. copper cap for volume control. (I live in Arizona...known as the Copper State...!) Yes, it sounds nice.

VT-62 / 842 Monoblock Amp
I rarely post here as most of the amps I make are pretty mundane, but I came across some rare tubes that I thought ya'll might like to see.
I finished this amp for my personal system. It is designed for the VT-72 / 842 thoriated tube that is a low MU version of the VT-25 / 10 tube. It has variable B+, Bias and regulated filament voltage, so in addition to 7.5V fil tubes it can also can operate 5V filament tubes like the 300B, Princess 206, KR842VHD, 4V filament euro based tubes (with a socket adapter) like AD1, RS241. Also 2.5V fil tubes like the 2A3 and 45. Its output transformer is a 5K primary Electraprint with 8R solid silver secondary.
I've been listening to just this mono amp before I built the other just to make sure I like its sonics. (And I do ) Also its matching LDR volume control preamp is yet to be made. I'll probably use the VT-25 / 10 or the VT-51 / 841 choke loaded in the preamp. Will see.
On the front is the vintage Weston bias voltmeter, bias adjust knob, and the ON / Standby / OFF switch.

Very different, I would have like'd to see the tubes on top and the trannies on the bottom. It's a different animal though. I like the stand I bet it has some nice vibration control, just don't let the cook know you stole his frying pan use as a chassis for the project

wow! how did you get the finish?

When I first saw it the thought that entered my head was that "The Martians have Landed". It looked a bit like a saucer from the old sci-fi movies.
my amps
Hello all,
here my mono amps, PP EL34 based with GZ34 rectifier.

The huge tube is a Telefunken RS607
The driver, the little one at the front, a 6EM7. I love those.
Very pure and strong enough to drive the RS.
The 2 in the middle are the rectifiers 5R4GY, each tube it's own.
Still need to wire it up and put a nice old VU meter in the front.
In it's pre-build stage it sounded absolutely marvelous.
I decided to "limit" it at 25W rms out.
Just because of my electricity bill

25 watts out?!!! In the breadboard stage did you happen to try operating it without the B+ switched on? I'd almost think (tongue in cheek) that the space charge from the cathode would move the loudspeaker at that kind of power level.
Neat project! I love big bottles.
BTW, RS607? I didn't know Radio Shack ever had a valve that large in their catalog.

Beautiful realization. I love power triodes
A refined modern look done with taste. Love the stacked aluminium design... are they laser cut aluminium sheets ?
And what other components are under the hood?
And more importantly... where did you find the bottles?
I want one

Thanks!
Yes, it is laser cut aluminium.
I'm going to have it anodized grey and red.
The bottles... they come from an old factory in Germany.
They were used in (antique) welding equipment.
Not even polar radio stations or something exotic like that...
The whole amp is DC coupled and there are only 11 components in the diagram.
Also because I wanted DC coupling the power is so low, to much problems having the different DC levels right without destroying one tube or another. Or maybe I did not thing hard enough.
I drew the amp in Rhino to see what it would look like...
I'll post the diagram in a minute, maybe you're interested.

The power supply is pretty straight forward.
Two rectifier tubes, one with a little help of 2 diodes.
The heater power is from a AC DC meanwell chopped thingy.
small and cheap (well)
It choppes at 240Kz, I think I can't hear it
16.5V 20A.
The rest, well see for your self.
And if anyone has some suggestions to get more out, I'm happy to listen!!
