I will take the spare caps that you have, let me know the postage costs and I can paypal you.

The caps that were damaged are supposed to go on the preamps pcb not the power supply but aslong as they are 100v and 1000uF they will work.

Here is coulombs pcb parts with the black caps on the pcb

Forgot, sklimek if you could email me the price of postage I will email you back with my address.

Hi Kram -

just sent you an email...

Edit:

I seem to be having email problems, let me know if you received my email...

Ok I found the BOM for the power supply and it seems that D9 and D10 should be 4.5V zenners. Is this correct?

Also just to further my knowledge, how do you read the number on the side of a zenner diode and come up with its value.

The two types of zenner supplied in my kit have the following numbers on them:

1N4739A and 1N5230B, how do you get a value from these?

Thanks
Mark

!N5230B

Did you need some replacement patrs Kram?

Thanks for the replies guys.

jajabin, are you sure that D9 and D10 are Diodes and not zenners. The BOM here says otherwise http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=638685#post638685

and so does this page http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=701869#post701869

Coulomb, thanks for the links.

I thought the code on the zenners had a direct relation to its value. I have had others that did. Anyway thanks.

sklimek is sorting me out with two new caps, though they are a different make it shouldnt make any difference.

OK Mark, if you are missing any diodes I can send you a few replacements. If you want all four of your Preamp Caps to match, let me know and I can see what I can send you.

Hello,

I dont think I need any more parts sending, I should have some 9.1v zenners and sklimek has allready posted some caps to me. Although it would be nice to have 4 caps that are all the same.

In order to get 4 of the same caps you (Coulomb) could either send me 2 of the Elna caps (black) that can be seen here i think http://www.briangt.com/gallery/album12/DSC00420
or send me 2 of the ones that sklimek is sending me, I dont know what they are though.

HI, they're BC 1000uF/100V blue plastic case, they will drop right into C2 and C3 on the amp board. 1.50 inch high and same pin spaceing and can diameter.

They came w/ my kit in the psu filter cap bag which had 4 1000uF/100V and 4 3900uF/100V. One was damaged so I opted to get 4 more of the 3900uF instead of the 1000uf and make the power supply 4-up of the 3900uF/100V... my parts bags seem to be different than yours in that I do not have any Elna caps just Nichicon and BC - Hope they work for you - Stan
