I'm still around too
Very busy with work lately, restoring and upgrading some nice old Quad amps, and building a monster, beautiful TDA1541 dac.
I know people comment on cobwebs in wallets, but I had the biggest spider in mine the other day, I'm sure it was going to attack!
Lee.

Brent's back! (loitering means hard work?) Yup say 300 hours for break-in. Must be those pesky caps. Read elsewhere a simple tweak about placing a wood "plate" beneath the transformer. Unfortunately not possible with the one in the 67' but I think it would work in the sig. which has a different type. Well I have to contribute something!
It's been so hot I took off the wooden cover on my cdp. Jeez this is a lame posting...I want to do something to my player! never ending itch.

That DAC looks tasty Ian.
I've been quiet in hi-fi but may mod another CD63 soon, and am about to try and repair my Arcam Alpha that died when a ground wire came loose. My new open baffle speakers need a bit more sanding and then I can start listening to those!
Simon
ps - I'm strictly a non-smoker! The cigar was pretty much a one-off!

was just looking for some pics and realised in fact I have been very busy with DIY!!!
Modded my SB3 and built a dedicated linear PSU for the seperate audio rails
Built a 200w mono amp for my centre channel
housed and powered a LM3886 stereo amp from ebay for my rear channels
recapped the Restek with F&T smoothers (from 40000uF up to 80000uF) and FM caps all round
rebuilt internal preamp section with Burson opamps and BG's
Modded a pals CD850MKI by with a few caps and 15 additional 5v regs!
added +/-8v regs to driver section in one of my CD63's
Built new mains leads (similar to RA woven jobbies) with Wattgate iec
Bloody hell its non stop! lol
A few pics attached cos everyone likes pics!!!
