On a KI TX what leads go where?

One got loose( yellow with 2 cores), and fixing that made a couple more come loose. Is there a list of which colour to which pad?

I did this little drawing a few years ago and to my knowledge it is correct.

The twin yellow always goes to gnd.

I have a Marantz PDF somewhere, that shows all the differences between the OSE/Ki etc. I'll dig it up and post it as soon as i'm home, it can be very handy.

Excellent. I did find a few years back that fitting a KI tx to an SE caused problems due to how they do the windings between the two tx to the pcb and explaining it to people is harder than you might think.

I was just looking at this Tenzing 2 modification package by Audiocom.

They do away with the HDAM but replace it with transformers. The analogue filter is the same, (op-amps changed), so what is the need for transformers? The o/p of the second op-amp is unbalanced and has negligible offset.

I don't see the point unless I'm missing something.

I'm fairly sure it'll be a better way of doing the output than the HDAM, but I think the price is incredible, there's no other way of putting it. Hardly any mods for a LARGE sum of cash.

"The stock CD63 uses HDAM modules and capacitor coupling for the analogue output stage. This area of the CD63 creates a bottleneck in the sound and seriously degrades the output filtered output from the active op-amp stage, masking, veiling sound, reducing detailing, dynamics and realism. "

Exactly the sorts of things we've been saying on here, and now they've started to remove the HDAM too.

You can get the BR or GR version of this FET with the GR version being slightly better. I believe they are selected for their tolorence from the BR batch. I'm sure someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

Simon - I don't think so, that particular package is basically unchanged in over 7years: the CD63 has been around a long time.

I tried transformers amid a bunch of other weird stuff, once upon a time. Not good for what I wanted.

LOL Audiocom do make me laugh with their Tensing claim of a cdp @ £3500. I've had one in at work as well as the Daku. Defo not that price range!! half of that maybe.

Discrete output

I am finally commited to build a discrete output..

I will initially fire it with only two sregs.... can anyone point the major differences by using two or four sregs (2 per channel?)
