I thought the KT120 idea has died for good....what benefits are there by using it ?
richy
nothing yet, other than I'm trying
To get anywhere with this tube the g1 needs to be driven by a low impedance source plus able to dump Miller effect, i.e the extra A-g1 varactor capacitive load without running into distortion by doing so. A cathode follower is not a solution as it cannot "pull down".

6C19n(6S19p) is supposed to be a good low impedance driver
I thought it would be a good one to do this
but maybe not good enough
would it be a good idea to have seperate supply to screen grids
connected through chokes, instead of resistor

What power output are you expecting ?
10-20watt classA and 60watt AB would be fine
Here's a pretty good use for the KT 120 tube!
A reincarnation of Bob Carvers masterpiece!
20 KT 120's producing about 1000 watts and 300 pounds of monster amplifier!
He also is upgrading a Citation II amplifier for use with KT 120 tubes.

By Jove, I think he's got it! YES!
wow, Kevin, was that you, trying to teach me how to layout a negative bias adjust...
cheers
edit...
well, you know how it is when not doing this stuff for a couple of years, and forgetting how to
and since Im not doing tube stuff 'every day', Im not sure I want to mess with negative bias
thinking of looking at it in 10 years from now, and not having clew about where or what ...
