To get anywhere with this tube the g1 needs to be driven by a low impedance source plus able to dump Miller effect, i.e the extra A-g1 varactor capacitive load without running into distortion by doing so. A cathode follower is not a solution as it cannot "pull down".

6C19n(6S19p) is supposed to be a good low impedance driver
I thought it would be a good one to do this
but maybe not good enough

would it be a good idea to have seperate supply to screen grids
connected through chokes, instead of resistor

A reincarnation of Bob Carvers masterpiece!

20 KT 120's producing about 1000 watts and 300 pounds of monster amplifier!


He also is upgrading a Citation II amplifier for use with KT 120 tubes.

since then, I have bought a completely wrong trafo, ofcourse


'converted' to parafeed
its far from ideal, but maybe it would still work
but I might use EL509, 6550 ...

and since Im not doing tube stuff 'every day', Im not sure I want to mess with negative bias
thinking of looking at it in 10 years from now, and not having clew about where or what ...
