i came across this 1ohm resistor while looking for bad solder joints. i replaced it. now the other side with the drive transistors still in. those outputs started to get very hot.
i didnt see any dc voltage for the little time i had it on.

It's a 1 amp fuse. This is the first time that I've see the protection device (whether they used a resistor or a fuse) in that location. It's generally near the RCA jacks so that there is no loss of ground to the rest of the circuit when the fuse opens.

Is the bias set too high on the side with the drivers?

both pots are still set from when the amp was made. do i need to adjust them?

Turn them fully counter-clockwise to see if that eliminates the heating of the outputs.

Reinstall the drivers. Do you still have 0v DC on that channel?

If so, clamp all transistors and see if it will produce clean audio.

yes it works. i never seen a smd fuse used like that in a amp before.

The following image shows the location of the fuse in the ZR1000.

If this amp is like the ZR1000, the screw between the transformer and the inductor has it's pad connected to the secondary center-tap. If you use a metallic screw, it shorts the secondary CT to the heatsink. If you mount the amp to the chassis of the vehicle, you'll get engine noise. This problem can be eliminated if you use a nylon screw and make sure that the cylindrical standoff is in place around the boss in the heatsink. This also applies to the ZR600.

ok last issue. the repaired channel still has 13v dc on it. and the tip35 over heat.the other channel still works. should i go ahead and change drive transistors?

Which channel (100 series parts or 200 series parts) has DC?

the left channel the one were i removed the drive transistors. what u mean by 100 series parts or 200 series parts?

If you're sure that you have the drivers reinstalled in the correct locations, post the DC voltage on all pins of the TL071. Place the black probe on one of the non-bridging speaker terminals.

I'm assuming that you've removed the jumper that you had on the TL071.

its odd cause the other channel plays just fine.

According to those numbers, it appears that there is no DC on the output. Do you still see 13v on the speaker output?

Does the DC change if you remove the module from the amp?

i found the problem. the TL071 had two bad smd resistors.they were 1mega ohm. and reading way below that. i replaced them and it went away.
