Is this a real TDA1541A?

If I understand this thread correctly the two digits after for example "HSH"
is a datecode?
Which makes wonder when I see a TDA1541A marked:
TDA1541A
11189
HSH0815 2

Or are they back in production as I've seen in some posts?

Now one that i got myself...

To me the datecode/batch seems ok, just the typeface is very very clean. I have some other tda's, all with a more fuzzy print than this.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Also to be seen on fleabay (i bought it from a dutch seller though):

From China.... 58 available.... Bad signs...

This is how the TDA1541 (from my Phillips CD-473) typeface looks like. Year 87, non-A. Notice the specific "A", "4" and "7" in name and datecode. But not in the middle serial (at least not in what I have).

That chip will work I have seen 2004 dated chips and 2008 chips and they all worked .

It is a pretty elaborate fake for them to be pin identical to the TDA1541A and also sound and function like one .

As has been mentioned by quite a few in the know on this forum the TDA1541A is still bizarrely enough still in limited production .

Work, yes, but could it be a relabeled TDA1541 non A?
I'm not in the know, but I guess there could be a limited production for spares?

Anyhow I did choose to go the safer path and got a few used TDA1541A SAA7220P/B cd-players/mainboards.

Ok... So what's the worst that can happen if I just plug this chip in my board?
