I did these out of billet 6061 on a lathe. I cut the bevel with an end mill. Final was to hand polish with some Simichrome.

Is this the original color in that pic?

It's hard to get a true color because of the polish and the type of light used. With tungsten light it looks brown/orange and with floresent it looks blue. Here is a pretty good pic, but it still pics up colors from the surrounding area.

For pics, the best light is daylight, as it shows true colors then.

Even the last picture picks up the blue from the walls of the room. Anything mirror polished just does what it does best - shine.

I should have been a machinest or carpenter, as I love to make stuff with metal and wood. My gainclone is my first to work with acrylic, but it's not to hard. I cut the 1" thick sheet with a 80 tooth carbide blade on my table saw, clean it up with a table belt sander and machine it on a table router. I even drilled and tapped it.

During a Bottlehead meet in Houston one of the guys tried the "Crystal Pig" tweak on the Foreplay. They said it would bring forward crystal clear highs in the music.

Here's the proposed front panel printing. Specialized logo will be smaller as well as SOURCE and VOLUME will use thinner line fonts. Any suggestions/objections?

I used "Off" position at source select. This is when no source is connected and can be used to mute signal without turning a volume knob.

I am not completely sure about using KITS on front panel. Maybe just leaving transistor sign without >ITS< would be a better choice?

Cause I would only prefer indications for volume and source, but no logo.

There will be only one artwork for printing, as I will go with one silkscreen mask (template) only. So it's up to majority what they want.

There will be no printing on power amp front panel (no pots version).

Custom silkscreening is possible, on individual basis. An artwork has to be provided and fee is $120.

I believe there is a chemical that removes this printing, so you could always take the logo off.

That last one looks alright to me. But yes with a Q-tip and a little rubbing alchohal, you can remove the silk screening quite easily.

Logo with full "Kits" -- otherwise it will become Speial K ... maybe a bit smaller thou.
