Nothing bugs me more than the sound of caps in the signal. Obligatto's dont bother me at all. Cant tell they are there. Using those Premium Obligattos and they are pricey for a cap but not for a boutique cap which they certainly qualify as.
Uriah
Are you using the Gold ,Copper,or film in oil.
10,000uF 50v Nichicon KG caps - bought these from Percy a decade ago, but you can get them from PartsConnexion now too
1uF 200v Vitamin Q - eBay. These are hard to find in lower voltages. They are wonderful sounding but also very toxic. Minimize the handling and don't eat fried chicken or lick your fingers after soldering. (Good advice anyway I suppose!)
Are you serious that Vitamin Q caps are toxic ( at the outside ) or are you joking ?! As I have small stock of Vitamin Q caps left I am curious. I don't like toxic stuff except for tin/lead solder that is...
I am glad I built a DC coupled B1 "Mezmerize". Cheaper and less mental noise which flavor cap to pick etc.

what's in
Paper and foil actually, new production Vit-Q are impregnated paper only.
You get high on PCBs when a Sprague PIO blows, current production is selfcontaining.
OK, we are going OT here but then Vitamin Q are not toxic except of course for the lead containing solder on the lead wire connections.
On the other hand Sprague PIO contains toxic oil. Thank you for the information Jacco. It is already hard to know your components and their specific features thoroughly but these myths and flaky assumptions don't make it any easier.

A lot of general knowledge from the paper days got lost after the web-age transition.

The mentioned "Premium Obbligatos" are the gold ones.... well, polished brass indeed
Those are the ones. Very nice sound. Or lack of sound.
The B1 has an output impedance of just over 1000r
It may be the receiver that is causing your problem rather than the B1.
I am not sure, I have diyparadise Charlize amp class D.

Doesn't the Charlize come with an input coupling cap already? Maybe it's the effect of the two coupling caps in the line which causes that?

I thought most units have input coupling caps,
I mean even my Cd player has coupling caps.
