I read that article (and understood some of it). Still looking at the 6BA6 datasheet I still think the 6AU6 will be a better fit for this application.
I have been thinking that my RH807 will make a good basis on which to build this new amp. Should save a bit of time on aquiring parts and preparing the case. I never really got to like my RH807 as much as I expected and I think this amp will be a big step up on it.
My rough calculation says that I should expect to get about 25W of class A power out of this, this is well down on what I could get if I used a higher +B, but then a lot would get waisted as heat in the cathodes. anything over 10watts is more than enough for my application.
