Hello Ben,
you are absolutely right (what measurements those are).![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
I will try to start up the second channel today. Then I will make further
adjustments.
My resistance above the optocoupler is set to 16 kOhm (instead of the original
10 kOhm). I have a trimpot (10 kOhm) in series with a 8.2 KOhm resistor in there. So I can play/ adjust.

hello toto 34,
your CRC - filter will work. Question is: How much ripple voltage you want to have after the CRC-filter?
A little bit low headroom with the max. voltage of your caps (65 V). I don't know on what voltage you want to run your amp?
At my first start up I had around 74 V coming out of my CRC -filter (but my
transformers put out 55V~ without load. So I was happy to have 80 v caps in there.
I used 47000µF/80V - 4x 1 Ohm (parallel) - 47000µF/80V in my CRC-filter.
Only some thoughts.

we have (sort of ) CCS up , buffering ripple from positive rail to rest of amp ..... but , SE is still SE
one can cheat , and connect speaker return to positive rail (instead to GND) , but then you must always take care of fact that one of speaker output connectors is ... very live![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

Ta - taaaah!![sing :sing: :sing:](https://files.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/sing.gif)
the 50W-SE-Schade-amp is singing! Hip-Hip-Huray!
The first test is promising. My WHAMMY is driving the 50W-SE-Schade-amp
directly.
I have to do some work on the other channel and then I will listen 'stereo'.
BIAS is at 3.2 A. The baby is hot![redhot :redhot: :redhot:](https://files.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/redhot.gif)
This is a good evening!

I will make the first soundcheck in stereo this evening. And on real speakers.
Yesterday I only checked with WHAMMY as preamp and the JBL Control 1.
Perhaps I will try other PreAmps today. But Mr. Pass said, the PreAmp shouldn't
be cap-coupled and should have a very low outputimpedance of not higher than 100 Ohm.
If the PreAmp is cap-coupled I put a 10k - pot at the input. Motorboating went down by decreasing the resistance from input + to ground. But it is audible -
at a very low level.![violin :violin: :violin:](https://files.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/violin.gif)
So: I will see...![Eek! ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

Hello members,
I started my little session this evening with the WHAMMY as preamp in front
of the 50W-SE-Schade-babies.
I've got horrible 50Hz-hum. Hmm?![Confused  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Changed the preamp to B1 Korg NUTUBE (single ended). And voila - no noise.
Now I have fun to listen. The amps are running in and get very hot!![redhot :redhot: :redhot:](https://files.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/redhot.gif)
After 1 hour I mesured around 60° - 65°C on the heatsinks at a bias of 3.19 A.
But it sounds really good. Did not adjust the B1 Korg NUTUBE (it's at 9,7 V).
Speakeroutput normal (not inverted).
Now I need some time to listen to well known records.
See ya later....![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

Good morning,
a little 'weather report' from the 50W-SE-Schade-amp:
some temperatures from last night (after circa 2 hours of listening):
the bias climbed from 3,15 A up to 3.29 A. But it is really rock stable.
My rail voltage is 67.4 V. So this would mean a dissipation of 67.4 V x 3.29 A =
221,75 W for one channel.
Temperature at outside of heatsink climbed to 70° C - 75°! But also room temperature was up to 30° C! I think I don't need a heating system anymore?![Confused  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Most important:
This amp sounds really good. I only listened with the B1 NUTUBE - Pre.
I thought that it will lack in the highs (high CISS of hockeypucks, transformer-loss of the EDCOR?) - No, it sounds detailed in the upper frequency range.
And it has a kind of authority. Bass is really good and controlled.
Stereo / roominformation is also there (but these are monoblocks: if you have no good channel seperation here - where do you wanna get it?)
I listened through very different kinds of music last night ( Al di Meola, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia - A Friday night in San Francisco), Classic and
some tough and loud music with electro guitars from down under.
Nothing dissappointed me. And it has power - Volume pot at preamp 1/4 was
pretty loud (speakers are 91dB / 1W /1m).
But as Zen Mod said: perhaps a little bit of too much sugar from the Preamp.
This seems to be a very nice amp! But very special with long heat up time
and limited possibility of matching preamps? This is not a statement! Only
a first impression.
to Soundhappy:
changing the output between the resistors will come later.
