thank you miles, i tried strings of little diodes to 2.7 and lower, but still the regulator is unresponsive, with 23v output voltage.

i would like to rebuild it, but only spare parts i have are bc550/560 and bd139/140.

can these work as small transistors?

Apex FH9-with IRF540/9540

Hi,
Completed Apex FH9 with IRF540/9540 withe the following modifications:
Driver transistor used: KSC1381/3503
Reduce the capacitor from collector to base to 33pF.

Please clarify my doubts:
What is the maximum supply voltage for 4R load with 1 pair of IRF540/9540.
Will there be any stability issues if we reduce the capacitor on collector to base of the driver transistor?
Will there be any improvement in the audio quality if the LTP transistors are changed to 2SC2240?

I finished build apex A9 with irf540/9540 outputs. The sound is amazing, tight bass..exceptional imaging.
What is the resistance value on bias 10k VR to obtain proper bias?

I would like to build the A9 but can’t find any IRF540/9540 from a reliable source like Digikey, etc.

Some help would be great. I’ve got 10 PCB so in case of a substitute I would like the same physical size.

Isn't this the Digi-key link for the IRF9540 from Vishay?
