TH-18 Flat to 35hz! (Xoc1's design)

your looking at retail channels most people ordering more than 1-2 drivers are not using. Saying that I have no idea what's going on with UK web distributors of pro sound components atm they seem to have pitiful stock levels of almost everything to the point that they are not usefull for anything but spares. E.G I need 8 anular ring compression drivers yet can't find a model with stock....
i totally agree with this! The UK have been absolutely rubbish for the last 2yrs now!

kind of weird for drivers that can take so much power for the 8 ohm option to be the dominent option. Are most sold for dual 18 cabs where combined they would be 4 ohm? or perhaps operating more cabs per channel? for me amps are cheap, I can get 4*4000W for ~£800 so its more cost effective and reduces transport weight budget to get the most out of every driver with a 4 ohm option. Perhaps the calculations are different if your paying more for amplifiers and taking truck loads of gear to events rather than transit vans.

so, I've managed to install my new 18SW115 drivers and oh my, what cabs! I've haven't heard these cabs sound like this for bloody years now.

If anyone is interested in buying my BMS 18N862s, I'm happy to accept some offers. Yes, they need recones but will still be cheaper than buying new ones! I'm based in central London.

Hi guys, I'm very interested in building some new subs for our sound system. The Th18s look promising but unfortunately there are a hell of a lot of other designs that would be nice to try. In particular, almost everyone else here has classic frontloaded horns but they're just a bit too big for us. How does the TH18 compare? Is there by chance someone in Germany (preferably near Saxony) where you could maybe test a TH18?

hi everyone simulating the big brother . aka single 21" xocs folding style .
any ideas or what will be the frequency response? welcome all

Hi Stewin - That looks more based on the Danley TH118. There is a lot of dimensional information missing from the sketch. No driver spec, or even a horn width!
This makes it very difficult to even start to evaluate. The compression on the driver will be quite high and dependent of the geometry of the cone and baffle cut out, so again not enough information to run a simulation.
As such any guess on the performance of the cabinet would be just that - a guess. And with a 21" driver, an expensive one!

thanks maxolini , bp1fanatic and xoc1 for the replies . the speakers i am using looks similar to rcf neo and it was in a german made cabinet ( it has no label or logo).
it uses a 115mm inside out coil similar to rcf. the box was ported (powered but the powered side was spoilt ) ,i was using europower 2000 as the amp .
it had overshoot and the cone , but it was overdriven with a bigger amp smh.

anyways the original box perfomance is impressive , but i wanted the power of the xocs enclosure in a 21" driver:redhot::redhot:😈😈
