Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Local touch screen would be great! It would allow Moode to be used in a mobile environment.

Gary

Hi Gary,

Screen shot of the new feature, already implemented :)

Not disagreeing with the addition of screen function, but you can use Moode mobile: just let it create an AP and control it with your mobile phone or tablet.

Thanks for the suggestion! I played around with AP a little bit. It seems the screen on my phone is a little small and hard to navigate for mobile use. My thought was the 7" Pi touch screen would be a little easier.

Any one needing a way to run the Pi in a mobile with a safe shutdown method might check out the following:

Thanks,
Gary

Ok - see there error.

Have started again with Step 4.2. Same error message. Time to start from scratch it seems. Glad folks on this forum are here with a helping hand.

See attached.

The error is because it canot find the git executable, so you should re-do Step 3 pt. 2 where you install some base apps.
Code:
sudo apt-get -y install rpi-update php-fpm nginx sqlite3 php-sqlite3 memcached php-memcache mpc \
bs2b-ladspa libbs2b0 libasound2-plugin-equal telnet automake sysstat squashfs-tools tcpdump shellinabox \
samba smbclient udisks-glue ntfs-3g exfat-fuse git inotify-tools libav-tools

keep the back slashes in there otherwise it will stop after the first line.

I am one step away from having achieved my ultimate setup. After having had a had time getting both Squeezelite and UPNP running, this time bluetooth poses an issue. Pairing with my projector works as it is supposed to, but the sound I get is remarkably distorted. Not "distorted" like audiophiles will hear the difference, but like the average Joe covering his ears. The tone seems shifted an octave below and there are constantly dropouts.

The settings on my projector are very basic so I suspect it is either a problem on the Moode receiver end or possibly something which needs to be adjusted in Kodi. I doubt, however, that Kodi is the issue as it used to be working with my old bluetooth speakers.

Do you use bluetooth and wifi ?
If so, don’t waste your time with theses settings because this is something which can only be resolve with a new Broadcom driver for RPI and it looks like cypress don’t do it.

If you want to use Bluetooth, you need to use ethernet cable on the RPI ;)

Hi Gary, whhat makes that a “safe shutdown method”? The listing describes it as a car ignition switch with power supply. Not much information to go on. What does it do, other than supply the two USB ports from the 12v circuit?

Hi,

I'm using Edimax 7811Un Wifi adapter on Pi-3 and the integrated Wifi adapter on Pi-0W and Bluetooth works perfectly from my IOS devices.

I've read that BT may not work so well using the integrated Pi-3 Wifi adapter.

Hi,

Some screen shots of the new "Players" feature :)

I'm using avahi to discover other moOde players on the network and then getting each players ip address to form the connecting url.

This should make it easy to connect to other moOde players when using Smartphone, Tablet and locally attached screen.
