Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Hi,

Works perfectly.

I'm testing over HDMI with wireless Kbd and can't figure out how to complete the steps below. Ctrl-tab does not seem to do anything. I think this is supposed to launch another instance of Chrome, correct?

Step 6 - Modify the look of the interface

- Press Ctrl tab on a keyboard connected to the Raspberry pi

- Next hide the scrollbar by enabling the following option

- chrome://flags/#overlay-scrollbars

Sorry, should be control T for another tab. I just needed a way to get a chromium tab for configuration.

Your image file didn't work as expected, because it seems that there is no Ethernet or wi-fi interface configured.
Have you ever tried to burn that particular image into a sd card yourself and what was the result after booting the pi2 ?
I have tried to boot the image using either a rpi2 or a rpi3 without any success.
Am I doing something wrong ?

The Moode is supposed to be a headless distro !

I tested this image with RPi3 without any success. Tried ethernet and wifi but no joy.

okay,
just for info/to confirm:
tested this script on Dietpi-Github->DietPi-Software | moOde * Issue #1223 * Fourdee/DietPi * GitHub
(on a RPI3 + I2S-ES9028Q2M)->works absolute fabulous, no issues, absolute straight-forward, about 35-45min to install/compile..
(and curiously less pops/clicks here over the UI while volume/title-changes (but that depends i guess on the mpd buffer size for example + your "gear" means I2S-USB-devices+ the related driver..)
wonderful, thx to Tim again !! :) (i reached by the UI btw. via the Raspberry PI-IP or "dietpi/" (not "moode/"->clear) and the ssh settings are: user: root pass: dietpi (also clear, not pi->moodeaudio)..
I´ve downloaded this compressed 2.6GB-image too but havent got the time to re-check it here by now..gr..

Let's be clear. The work over at DietPi to add moOde is on the git branch named "testing" but that doesn't mean it's in beta. Right now it's more like smoke and sanity testing. There are still lots of loose ends like differing names and, more fundamentally, merging the two projects' somewhat disparate ways of configuring their environments. Be cautious, for example, pushing buttons in the moOde config menus. Further, no optional moOde features have been added yet.

I'm very encouraged and am participating as best I can in the testing but I would not recommend it to anyone as a production player yet.

For the time being, it's better to apply Tim's build script to a virgin raspbian image.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Regards,
Kent

My record so far: DietPi_v156_RPi-armv6-(Stretch).img (which automatically installs moOde r40b9) installed and is working on an RPi3B; failed to install on an RPi0W.

Hi,

moOde 4 has a nice new feature that enables its UI to be displayed on a locally attached display :)

BIG thanks to @Morias !

Fully agree Kent. Interesting but a ways to go yet.

Finally installed on Pi-1B.. Third time lucky.
I connected a monitor to hdmi and watched boot and initial install steps. Once I was sure it was happening I went gardening for 3 hours. On my return the monitor was blank but using
Code:
http://dietpi
I got the MoOde interface in browser.
Rebooted and configured and listening now.
Learnings...reboot after install before configuring. Trying to ssh in while it is installing seems to stall it.

Excellent ! Thanks Tim.
Liking the ui experimental screens on the MoOde twitter feed too.

Tim, another tweak to the new local display would be to add a turn off display option on the screen where you can choose to reboot or turn off the display. That way a person could leave their display on all the time but manually turn it off if required.

I think this is more a feature for a touchscreen where the display would come back on again if touched.

Hi Tim, happily running beta9 (upgraded from beta8) and donated. An issue to report though, airplay sometimes crashes after a long-time play session. Restarting airplay service doesn't help, have to reboot rpi to get it back to work. I use airplay a lot and hope it's not a hard one to fix. thx!

A Question for Koda59 regarding his script.

I was not running the script on a Volumio instance but on a Stretch Lite image so adjusted the config accordingly. This is on a RPi zero. The image downloaded to the usb stick with lots of room to spare but the process stops with the error that the image could not be extracted.

Why would this be? Is the pi zero too lightweight?

Everything is done on the RPI.

So to wrote rapsbian on an SD card from the PI, you need an SD adapter because you can't write the SD card which is running.

Another important thing : don't forget to update the link for Moode Realease to beta9 in .properties file because beta8 is not yet available.

regards

Is the adapter needed? Cannot the script work just on directories?

Change moode realease in .properties file to beta9.
beta8 is not yet available.

you can look at log file in the directory but i guess you will see an error 404 ;)
