Hi,

I have listen my kit ! it's very good.
It sound soft and natural, like a 300b.
The sound is more precise and the bass are better than l'amp.
L'amp have a natural sound, a good "presence", I like it too.
The VFET part2 have a better definition, even with the compressions chambers.

Most useful, especially now that we have some information on your speakers. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi

I am intersted to know if you have a pair of TAD for the bass and a pai of radian ?
Do you drive them with a F5 ?

Yes, yes and no. I drive them with UGS pre and a pair of F4 monoblocks. Lately I have been playing with tube amps kits (EAR SE and ANK PP) with and without F4 buffers to the TADs only. They all have their pros and cons and the results are sometimes surprising. Your happy match of the Sony VFET DIY with your speakers encourages me to move this build to the top of my list.

Hi

I had make a A.N. 300b kit 10 years ago, I don't have make direct comparaison.
I only can say that a prefer the Vfet part2 to l'amp, a mini Aleph, the Aleph J and a TA1600.
I think this amp is very precise with it's low distorsion.
I would try some vaccum amp again, but I don't want to have problem with tubes, black gate caps and so one.
The last tube amp I have heard were not enough precises to me.

My apologies

I didn't mean to hijack this thread with my earlier questions about speakers.

I've started a new thread for Pass amp owners to share their experiences of what speaker designs work best to compliment our 25 watt works of art.

Good idea, because in my experience most Pass amps like a similar type of speaker, so better to have a more general audience

Edit: I was thinking of the First Watt Pass amps being more similar In their needs. The Pass Labs amps work great with less efficient speakers also so really they have all types covered
