In the other hand, we can take care about the consumer´s enthusiasm, those who really give the product´s support.

Just wondering, how does the performance differ with different tolerances of the resistors?

THD differences... Soren has updated his webshops with the specs...

0.01% resistors THD at -1dB is 0.005%
0.02% resistors THD at -1dB is 0.008%
and 0.05% resistors THD at -1dB is 0.015%

There is only stock left for 0.02%. Additionally, most (if not all?) of us received it in proper ESD packaging... that isolated case may have been a customs thing.

Product was released as a diy module. There is expectations to "diy". The benefit to us is that we pay cost or near cost.

The issue was discussed in the thread a while ago... seems as if it was an exception or customs opened the parcel.
I did receive mine in professional wrapping.
 
I have made a temporal set-up with a Raspberry Pi and a I2S connection.
When I use Vortexbox 2.3 as a music server and all settings are correctly installed, I can play DSD via DoP, and it sounds very well.

I can use a ESS 9016 as a reference who can play native DSD.

I am waiting to get more boards since the firmware to run the DAM crossover function is not released yet. Søren did say that he was excited to get this feature running for his own personal use, so hopefully it will be out soon and well tested by him. I would be happy for more updates so that enthusiasm does not wane for the product. I am very close to settling for minidsp as an alternative.

Forgive my ignorance. I can see how the DAM filter programming capability would allow the DAM to act as both a crossover filter and a DAC for one driver (stereo pair). But won't it be necessary to have some digital programing in order to provide the same digital signal to each driver/crossover/DAC combination? It seems like one would need something like the MiniDSP miniSHARC or nanoDIGI in front of multiple DAMs to route the input signal to each DAM. I don't see how the DAM, as currently configured, would have the capability to really act as a crossover.

If I am correct (with a good chance that I am not), you may want something like a MiniDSP anyway and use multiple DAMs as high quality, good value DACs. I still think of this as a really interesting solution because, even if the crossover functions where handled before the DAM, the advantage the DAM has is that you could tailor the sound of each driver with the FIR filter.

Can anyone with more expertise shed some light on this topic?

Hi Søren,

I was curious if there was any obvious disadvantages to replacing the LME49710 in the output buffers with LME49990? The only spec I can see that is appreciably worse is the current noise density, but as the output impedance of the ladder is under 1K ohm so I imagine that shouldn't be a big issue.

I received my DAM card. It looks great.
I would like to use it with Raspberry V2 & VolumIO with direct I2S connection.

Anyone tried this ? Where can I find a good tutorial ?
The mains items :
- Which I2S driver to use in VolumIO ?
- Does the driver permit to us to manage the DAM volume capapability from VolumIO client ?

Of you want to control the volume from Volumio you have to connect the rpi to the dam via serial and use the umanager there.
But with current firmware the GPIO headers from rpi (ttl serial) to dam1021 are not compatible (3.3v instead of 5v) You then have to use an usb to serial interface on the rpi (which I do)
