The Pass Pub: The High-End Off Topic Thread

If you like Guinness, you should take a trip to Ireland and have a pint of Porters with a 'white lemonade' chaser (potcheen), you might not want to come back, especially if you get one of those lovely redhead girls on your arm.

Health to you too Brian

But they have better than Guinness and even the Guinness that they do have is beterer than the one we have and i'ts only over the water from here

Unfortunatley the lovelly redhead girl is the one that drag me home and some how seem to remember the way better than me at times.

From what I remember I liked Sligo and Galway very much (and all the small places ofc). Historical overated and pretty boring was Derry and Limerick. Cork shall be nice but to me just another medium big town.

Belfast was full of tanks and Dublin last time I was there was a mix of a tourist trap and depraved.

If you want advice on Redheads just ask BkS!

I,too, like Galway and Sligo. My Mother's brother lived in Sligo for 50+ years and we went there often....but that was 50 years and more ago!! I go back to fish once every 7/8 years or so.......and to get in touch with my Irish soul. I get in touch with my feminine side about as often - by washing the kitchen or cleaning out the car!

I had to go on a course in Belfast back in the 1960s...........it was meant to be a week, but my appendix rumbled and I got straight back out - as fast as possible. It never entered my head to return. Cork city stinks, but the county and it's coastline are very scenic but over commercialised ........by Irish standards, whereas Kerry is simply awful...especially, keep away from Kilarney - it is diabolical!
