I'd sure be interested in a "long kit" for AX (whereby "long kit" means everything except control knobs, enclosure, heatsink and transformer). And "long kit" means doable.

But, specifically, I'm not interested in a short kit due to the difficulty in shopping for discrete parts in combination with the much longer timeframe to figure it all out.

I'm one of those potential customers who just wants it to be up and running and playing music after about one afternoon's soldering and assembly. Its just that the preference has absolutely nothing to do with admiring its simulation and nothing to do with admiring its design; but, rather everything to do with admiring its output. :)

Okay, actually, there's already been a bit of admiring the AX design. . .
But, yeah, its about time to hear it.

Good to see you back OS. I always find your work on the Frugalamps and Mongrel stuff interesting reading. No BS, no audiophile nonsense, just good practical working designs.

Things are up in the air for me right now, might be moving Stateside myself! So most if not all of my DIY stuff will be eBayed/given away/binned. Gotta start from scratch. However it'll be for a job with WAY better pay, so money to spend on DIY audio :D

Hi Jay

I don't know if you are on Pinkfish but there is a new DIY sale section in the classifieds area. Might help to shift some stuff in the UK.

Hope it goes well in the US :)

Hey OS, glad you're still here.

I'm needing PCB. Do you know a place that accepts paypal where I can get the "good stuff"?

I think I'll try etching one side of the board for a lot of my projects forget drilling holes and solder directly to the top traces. I think this is good for prototyping purposes since I can throw together a layout quickly, immediately change components and also have a ground plane if necessary.

Are there any problems with etching board with sharpie markers?

I read this thread everyday and it was one of the most interesting thread I saw.

I do understand that OS did a large amout of work , very fine work, and we must thank him for that.

I did have a chance to learn a lot of stuff.

I would be glad if the schematics and layout could be merge together and have a fair picture of the project.

If somebody go for contruction of a kit I may by one to buid an amp and experiment.

Banned???

Hi OS!

I have a problem - when I try to enter your site it says that I'm banned.
Why is that? Are you enforced new rules for visitors?

Thanks.
