F5 power amplifier

I beleive the P JFET however, has higher gm than the N. This mismatch will cause more gain for the negative portion of the signal than when the signal swings positive? Will it not?

You could be right here, but I still disagree with that or maybe I don't understand what you are saying.

I see the circuit as two single ended circuits working in parrallel. The full signal appears acrros both jfets (eg just like resistors in parrallel).

I don't believe that you get the positive half of the signal appearing across n-channnel jfet and negative half of signal appearing across p-channel jfet (unless of course it switches into class B).

I don't mind being wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me.

Right. But the signal amplitude at the drain of the P JFET would be larger than the signal at the N JFETs drain. After the signal passes through the MOSFETs the opposite happens and of coarse the signal level is the same at the drain of the MOSFETs.

Theres never a trumpet when ones need. But im back.

And look what I got !!! no more horrible red pirated Chinese board you have to look at as far as Im concerned And It Feels really good inside for doing the right thing. much appreciated your help.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The next picks I'll post will be me destroyed the Pirated Boards.

Any suggestion of how to do that , Bulldozer, scissors, :bomb:etc ?

If Plenty ideas The moderator could open a new thread "101 way to destroy counterfeit boards" or something.

any way Im all smiles thanks to Mr Nelson Pass for giving the go ahead on these new boards, they are so well done I just sat for a couple days just looking at them.:)
The quakes over so now onto populating them, Thank Guys.:D
Sorry the pick could have been a bit better:eek:

Hello,

I wonder if those PCB from the first cviller's group-buy still are available somewhere ? Where did you get it from ?

just scrape my name off.

How's about just adding the letter S instead of scratching (not likely there's a car lottery number underneith, or maybe just the letter P ).
BULLDOZER !

cviller's Boards will be available at the diyAudio Store , in approximately a week as he now has a "real job" which, as most of us know, takes away valuable DIY time..

Nelson's has given permission for this and we now have the boards in hand, and just have to get them to loaded up so that you can order them..

Great news.
I think this approach makes it much simpler and the donations are immediate.
Thanks to Cviller for all the work he has done on BA1/2 and F5. Congratulations on the new job.

Also thanks to Peter Daniel and BrianGT. I hope you guys still have the time to continue the great work you guys do.
Espescially thanks to Peter who started us off with all of the Firstwatt series pcb's.

Last but definitely not least thanks to Nelson who unselfishly shares all of this with us.

PS: Hey Variac I haven't forgotten about the Zen I/V. You're not off the hook yet.

while biasing my F5 tonight i noticed a mechanical hum from the PS caps (60Hz???). i have 132,000uF in the PS and another 44,000uF in the amp proper - the PS will be remote in a separate chassis, connected with a 2ft umbilical. right now, i'm using 22AWG/alligator clips for hook-up on the bench, with all grounds returning to a central point at the PS. i've never heard caps hum before - is this normal? the TX is 500VA and my rail voltages are 25.5V.
