greetings sir audio machine,
I heard about this "squacker" but I don't have much background about this. If you mount this in your mids, will this improve your sound system in terms of pubic adress, vocals what so ever. What is the difference with egglooking speakerbox I seen in some sound system.
Thanks in advance for the info.

@demi

Are you reffering to a compression mids "squawker"? the egg looking thing is called a loading plug or phasing plug, the egg looking speaker system is popularly called electrotech here in the Phil. It is also known as "porn horns" abroad.

Sir Audio machine
If we add those material; in the sound system what do you recommend
-the "squawker"compression mids or the so called the "porn horns"
- How this affects the highs and the mids.
- where we can get these and the estimated price of each one.
- The recommended driver use
I really want to improve my sound system for public adress/Vocals, thus I refer this to you since you have a vast knowledge in the sound system business/ Thanks again

Can i have an enclosure plan for L36 and subzero. My Speakers,
Are 18 Inch P-Audio, Thank You In Advance.More Power!

leinad.opmaco3@gmail.com.

as a speaker repairman and from what I had seen,your P-Audio would probably shred cone inside an L36 enclosure:dead:. They are much more suited in a box reflex box. It wouldn't even last in a subscope cabs (T18).:eek:

however this is just my two cents.

@audiomachine

Thanks for the speaker plan. I also want to hear your opinion regarding amps. I heard that Crell CA25 cost around P52-P55k. I have an option to buy a Peavey CS4080 HZ for almost the same price but its a used item/mint condition. I still dont have idea about Crell and never hear them yet. Which do you prefer? thanks again.

sir audiomachine im a newbie here just want your opinion on what is the best power amp among the two,the crell ca25 or ca20 of sound standard and which two sub cab gives more ground shaking bass driven by pd1850,el36 or wsx?what is the size of wsx cab i've never seen such cab before?...have you heard kevler vt-488 line array series?what is your comments on this?..thanks and more power

@alvin_alvin

its an old school w-bin sir.

@lui

actually the only difference between the two amplifier is their power rating, my preference would be the L36 and it is making a comeback on our local sound system scene. They been around for a long time and it never goes out of style.

The WSX is designed to be ground stacked and ultimate performance is achieved by close coupling a stack of four or more WSX's mirror imaged on their sides to increase the combined horn mouth area. For large outdoor systems, stacking mirror imaged pairs up to six or more high will form a tall line source which will focus the bass into the audience yet retain good horizontal coverage.
WSX has a 1/4wavelength hyperbolic horn @ approx. 40hz, therefore 4 stack completes the 1 wavelength and this is where it really shine...technology of the mid 80's. Professional Loudspeaker Systems. Martin Audio Ltd.

"W"-box provides a 4dB sensitivity increase above 40Hz and a usable response from 32Hz to 400Hz. The horn mouth size of this enclosure is 1/8 of the size required for a full 40Hz horn. Hence, stacking 8 JBL “W”-boxes in a 4 x 2 configuration will provide true horn loading down to 40Hz. Because of the inherent midrange coloration of any "W”-horn design, the recommended crossover frequency is 300Hz or lower. Dr. Keele design during his days at JBL...technology of the mid70's.

we been using WSX ever since early mid 90's and its the most faithful sub we have use...not so popular for DIY'er because of the building difficulties.

Other than WSX...Tappedhorn has more quality of a real subwoofer and the current technology. Danley Sound Labs - Home of Tom Danley - Innovative Designer of Pro Loudspeakers & Subwoofers
