For those interested. I got rid of the rest of the hum/noise by partially rebuilding the preamp. Changed the layout of a few things, redid the grounds, and so far so good. I can still hear hum/hiss but at full blast it's like it was at volume 2. I'll call it solved for now... A ground broke yesterday which let me hear whatever was plugged into a line input through the phono stage prompting me to rebuild. It was either that or smash it/run it over with a car LOL (I get pisse-ed, God damnit).

I’ve made chokes just using an old steel bolt as a core also.

I should mention I further reduced hiss by changing from 6N14P to 6N24P for the first gain stage in the phono section.
