Cheap and Good 5v 1A supply

My SOLA SLS-05-030 arrived, connected and operating. Yes, the OVP is nice to have it the controller went haywire. It's a $40 computer after all. When I first started after college, I wondered what the big deal was. It was a $40,000 computer then...

So now I have a class D amp powered by a 20V linear and my Pi based player/streamer and its USB connected I2S converter powered by a 5V linear also. Why? Because I can - cheap too - if you know where to look. I'm pretty sure nothing is happening power quality wise that would effect the sound -

The 5V one has 11.75 across its bulk cap. I have a set of two, 12V batteries that powers the amp half of the system just fine. If I tap it at 12, I bet I can get the 5V regulator to run off the battery set as well. Why? Because I can - maybe not connected to the AC line at all makes a sonic difference somehow. Audiophiles pay big bucks for AC line conditioners - how about completely wireless, like a transistor radio?
