Boost controller for +48VDC?

I need to find a boost controller to drive a switching MOSFET that will allow me to get +48VDC output, and am going a tad bonkers wading thru data sheets from the various semi vendors.

Perhaps someone who has done something similar could advise a part?

Input voltage: +10VDC to +18VDC
Output voltage: +48VDC
Output current: 4.5 amp (external MOSFET probably required, so a healthy drive current is needed)
Output ripple: 200 mV max
Must have a chip enable
Switching frequency in the 500 KHz to 600 KHz range
Max 50% duty cycle
Low side current sensing needed
No input/output isolation required

Any suggestions for a suitable PWM controller for the above would be much appreciated

Standard UC3844 would do fine. you will have to use a transformer if you want to limit the duty cycle to 50%. If you use an inductor in a non-isolated boost then the duty cycle would be around 75% and you would use the UC3842.

At that power level, a push-pull converter is a better choice.
