Pass f6 toroidal transformer

All of the First Watt amps will work perfectly with a 300VA transformer. (Nelson uses 300VA, if it’s good enough for him... :) )

If buying from Antek I strongly recommend a shielded transformer, the AS- series. They are 400VA and smaller.

Over sizing the transformer doesn’t actually do much, but since people like overbuilding the PSU, what the heck, why not. ;)

I read this after just now ordering an Antek 500VA Transformer, non AS-Series. (everything else is out of stock).
Will I have problems? Is there a way to solve the problems if so?

Problems? Not necessarily. Is it ideal?

A few tweaks / considerations.

1. Mount donut as far away from signal transformers as possible.
2. Mount it vertically if possible (see #1)
3. Either vertical or horizontal, rotate the donut until you find the lowest noise. It works!
4. Use one of these or similar. Verify with Antek that the 500VA will fit, but a quick look at dimensions makes me think it'll be fine. I use them, and they work. They're heavy buggers though.
