What's your guess about these: SemiSouth JFET Transistor SJEP120R100 High Performance Audio Amp New 2pcs | eBay
Real or fake? Good or bad?
Real or fake? Good or bad?
Looking for an article titled "Is it a Semisouth?" written by Dr. Mike Mazzola
I can't seem to find that. Any hints where to look?
Is there a specific FW amp where these JFETs are used?
J2 maybe?
Or which amp do you have in mind using these power JFETs?

It's hard to find this part now and the price for this seller has gone up a fair bit.
(A few days ago it was $120/pair.)

He is open for offers......so maybe USD 120 is still possible. I have not looked at J2/F6 to check how many power JFETs are needed. I guess one pair is not enough…..but will have a look.
Maybe it is better to contact him directly and then make an agreement for a number of matched pairs:
SJEP120R100
…..then you don't have the ebay protection. It is good to have......sometimes. It seems he still has 132 JFETs in stock…..if his web shows the right number. People here may know him in person and can say if he can be "trusted"?

The price has been rising as he has been selling units.
Send him a message on ebay or do him an offer.

Answer: They appear to be genuine.
I used the diode check function on a Fluke 79 to implement the "sink or swim" test in the SemiSouth boiler room article referenced above. Readings were 2.316v and 2.315v on the one I tested.

Free economy. Supply and demand.
When there is little demand, price will go down.
When 10 people are asking daily, price will go up, by almost 100% in one weekend.
One has to ask, do I really need these ?
Do I really know how to apply these properly ?
Or I just do not want to lose out, because others are rushing for them ?
There are still many nice Class A amplifier circuits that are equally worthy.
And without the need of unobtaniums. Such as JLH Class A.
Cheers,
Patrick
