Thanks Michael 🙂 Very kind
Could build audio amplifiers with Vfet´s, Sit's darlington configuration stage's make sense ?

The same package but Shindengen brand transistor attention not SIT
Next picture is about used Tokin after the NOS be not available in the future we can find used part's 😉

Wow, A large box of fake Tokin SIT 😀
@ Jamahamvui1978
Used rusty old semi's frequently are genuine vintage.
In the blue box photo they look to be recycled from industrial equipement..
Do you have buy this 2SK183VET and tested them ?

What is the proper nomenclature of the big TO-3 package?
No source of information about package in Tokin datasheet.
Maybe this is the reason Mr. Pass call them Hockey Pucks 😀
Tokin ( Tohoku Metal Industries Co. ) is no longer with NEC, actuall name is Tokin a Kemet Company.
BTW sellers Pras and Watanabetomoaki have still full boxes

Interesting but what is the full original document ?
Do you know package name of 2SK182ES and THF-51S ?

Can anyone suggest why most of the designs for SITs use the op devices in follower (common drain) mode ? Other than some of the single stage types I mean. In follower mode, they operate with full local feedback so *possibly* a bit of a missed opportunity to enjoy the most of their their triode-y transfer characteristic ?
Perhaps Nelson can chime in also since he would have tried them in every configuration know to man (and then some...)

you ignored his BAF2015 SIT amp...... and some of Mr. MR's amps after , and Singing Bush, and lhquam's thread about obtaining least THD with SIT
Saw the others but missed the singing bush - Thanks zm,....
had been away so there will be a few more missed threads for sure so some more reading for me.
Regulated supplies are of course essential for best results it seems.

Hi Kasey,
At one time I thought CS was the only way to go with SITs, but I'm becoming more liberal in my old age.
Common Source applications are attractive and fun in the sense that they are analogous to how big Triodes are generally used in output stages. However, SITs as followers have their merits as well, and one could certainly argue that they are more "triodey" with some form of voltage feedback applied. Depends on what you're after.
I'm just pointing out that, SITs in followers, or even (heaven forbid) CS with some voltage loop feedback needn't be dismissed out of hand. They have a place in our toolbox, and I wouldn't want to spoil anyone's fun or creativity with audiophile mythology. 🙂
