Threshold SA/1 AC Voltage and meters

Hi guys,

Just bought my third pair of Threshold mono amps (waiting for shipment as I speak).
Consecutive of course I sold the first two.
The lady loves the glowing meters and hates the black massive appearance of the huge JRDG model 7....
Something had to happen and I was really happy with the Rowlands M7.
I gave her only one option: the SA/1

After two times modified S/1000 Series II (from bridged to massive parallel configuration and they never gave me the surplus frontend ;)) to the "real" SA/1. It's the optical biasversion.

Two questions:
1. Should I rewire (and how) the unit for 240 Volts because 230V is already coming out of the AC connector.
2. Are these Modutec VU panelmeters still to get somewhere?
Did they fail ever by anyone with a Stasis 1, S/1000 or SA/1? They never failed on my S/1000's ...

Thanks in advance

This is the VU meter in the S/1000 and SA/1.
It looks like a custom made but maybe Jewell makes them hiding behind one of their own encasings. Maybe the specialist on metering McIntosh knows them...

SA/1's arrived and they were alraedy setup for 230 Volts according to the back of the amp.
Strange thing though I measured only 56 railvoltage so I think they were rewired for 240 Volts otherwise I would expect at least 60 Volts at a 228 Volt AC line.
Bias was great almost exact 50 degrees Celcius on both amps.
Inside looked fresh from the factory apart from some dust of course.
Asked Jewell Instruments about the Modutec meters with a couple of pics.
Maybe they come up with something although the meters work okay so far.

Best thing: They sound really great and look nice too according to my wife.
The SA/1 has a much higher WAF then the JRDG Model 7's...
