That T016 must be a bugfix version. There may be a service manual erratum listing that version. Or even a part number that is identical so when you would order the old chip you get the new one. AFAIK there is no manufacturing information about mask versions and their purpose except for the thread in MFBFreaksforu.

I can still remember that Philips had released numerous updates (Service Bulletin, sometimes called "Revision Manual") for authorized dealers after the service manual was already published.
Service-manuals without this information are not always helpful.

Interesting to know.
In order to the age of this information it isn't to understand, why Philips and Motorola are still not releasing them.
