There are just a few parts to it. The measurement start time, the left window and the right window.

The measurement start serves to position the impulse and to set its timing. If you just want a simple single measurement, you can set the start to be the start of the impulse by letting/asking REW to remove the initial delay and find the beginning of the impulse.

[Side note. The real start time should be a fixed distance for multiple measurements so that driver time differences are included. REW cannot do this with one channel, like HolmImpulse can, and so delay measurement has become unpopular. This has also brought confusion to the techniques required to get the best out of that situation.]

The left window simply allows time for the impulse to get started. Normally you can leave it at its default position.

The right window you can slide, the further you go the lower in frequency you get, but also include reflections. There should be a whole region that is valid and you want to be more to the right end of that. You can usually tell you are getting to reflections, for example the highs begin to look noisy.
