Tangband w3-2141 vs w3-881sjf

The W3-2141 has really low non-linear distortion, but the frequency response is a bit of a dogs breakfast. Above 1kHz the response jumps up and down about 5-10dB -> Timothy Feleppa's Pages: Speaker Measurements - Midrange/Fullrange Speakers 4" and smaller . Unless you have a DSP/EQ to play with, the W3-1364 might be easier to live with, or the W3-1878 if budget allows. I haven't tried the W3-881SJF but it looks well behaved in the frequency response, however, with a simpler motor (higher non-linear distortion probably).

Excellent work on that chart and all the measurements you did. The 1878 is really impressive, seems to have about 3 db built in baffle step as well.
