Linux operating system - practical for test and measurement software ?

Typing in a postage-stamp window is for Twits. Use a proper text-editor running on your local machine. I've used UE for decades but WordPad works too.

I don’t much like Windows either , thus I am asking here ,
will the Linux operating system accept the various test and measurement software ?
or do the Manufacturers of test and measurement software only design and manufacture for Windows and Apple/Mac operating systems ?
I sell many USB PC scopes and they only run on Windows.
I think I have been asked once about alternate operating systems.
Windows is much maligned, probably because people feel forced into it ?
