I don't know of any fakes. I did order a P90 head off eBay a couple years ago and it appeared genuine, but unfortunately the repair was not successful. The problems I was having with the player did not go away. If you have read my posts from that time you'll see that the laser may not have been the problem. I have since moved on from that player.

Last week I came across a Audiomeca Kreatura using the SF-P1 (6/6) pick-up unit with the sanyo servo (and some ...fancy filtering at the end of the analog stages). Somebody had worked on it before and the lens was already severely misaligned, so I looked and found a local supplier with a brand new SF-90 6/6. Well, it looks genuine but I seriously doubt it is. In any way, the replacement had a shorted cap on the laser supply path which I changed (using the the one from the faulty one) and it worked correctly after that, but I am 99% sure it is a chinese copy.
