I bought a tda8950 for my first amp project, when I put it together and pluged it in the led light turns on and then over the next 20 second the light gets dimer and dimer until it goes out. I haven't got it to work, the transformer i am using to power it is outputing 22v.
the recommeded power for it is 16 to 28 volts.
and that is about all I know about it, is there more i need to do for it to work?
any advice would be appreciated.

I checked my wiring from my transformer again because i was checking voltage between the red and the black wire and so I checked the voltage of the individual wires and ground and this is what I found, the black wire was putting out 10v, one of the red wires was putting out 5.5v, and the other red wire was putting out 27v.
my ground was connected to the fram and then to the ground plug in wire.
Any suggestion on what transformer would be best for this amp?

Ok ... for the power wires (the 2 red ones and the black ones) ... i need to know which are the wires that carries the AC voltage from the power transformer and which is the center tap ... (pls provide the information here only i will be able to help out) FYI i am using this same amplifier module as yours and it already served me for one years ... no trouble and keep getting alot of punishment (bcos they were doing bass duty for subwoofer)

If you try to read carefully at the voltage requirement at the terminal of the amplifier module ... there it will be stated AC GND AC ... this means that this amplifier module will only accepts AC in and not DC power supply ... your best bet to get this amplifier get working is to get a proper toroidal transformer with 18V 0V 18V (they are AC outputs and should be fairly easy to get anywhere) rated at least 250W ... it is not too hard to get this amplifier working as it is fairly straightforward stuff ... No its a single supply. Eventhough its DC you still need dual output and gnd
