Salas DCG3 preamp (line & headphone)

So if the DC servo is affecting the sound so significantly, the best solution would be not to use a DC servo, not to put a relay and circuit around it and use SSR protection (incl dc protect and delayed switch-on).
Well, the DCG3 can be trimmed down to very low mV offset on its own without a servo chip as you builders have seen. But initially.
It has the potential to drift significantly after days and temperature differences though. Not only theoretically, I have seen it going on.
If we had gone without a servo but DC detection at output, say with a 25mV DC threshold, it would need periodic offset readjustment.
By the way, some builders had reported in the thread that they can't hear the servo chip at all, left alone discriminating between types.
While others had been meticulous with their servo chip preference. Its always nice to explore options and weigh them for our selves.🙂
