I am having a lot of hour web crawling logged up trying to find a schematic for a Zoom MRS1608 home recording studio. The problem is:
I have a zoom mrs1608 hard disk recording studio, which when last turned on came up with a blank screen. *I am getting, power from the psu at normal voltages and also voltages to the main board with normal voltage readings from most of the IC's that I could find data on, but the fault is, as well as having a blank illuminated screen, if I disconnect the IDE cable from the hdd and cdrw the disks will both start, but obviously there is no further action from the unit. *I have tried a new hdd but as soon as I connect the hdd ribbon back to the main board , no drives boot up and although the display is illuminated, the unit still fails to boot up. *Is there an ic buffer before the IDE port on the main board that would prevent reboot. *Can I obtain a schematic from anyone who may have one or help me along the way if you are not allowed to give away a schematic service manual

I just found this post of yours from searching for answers for the same problem on my MRS1608. I removed the hdd to transfer the files to my computer and after reinstalling the hdd, i'm having the same problem that you're having. I was careful when removing and reinstalling the hdd and everything is reconnected as it was, but I can't get the machine to boot up. I just get a blank screen. Let me know what you find out as I will do the same. Good luck!

Hi. Sounds to me as though yours is simply a dismantling fault.
You may have slightly dislodged one of your ribbons. I would disconnect each one and make sure when you reconnect them that you make sure they are fully in before closing the connector.
It is highly unlikely to actually be the LCD ribbon fpcb, more one of the others stretched when you opened the top up.. Let me know. Regards
