Zobel Question

Simple question which I hope someone can help in answering.

What would be the likely result of removing the Zobel network across a woofer?

Would this mean a reduction in low frequency response at driver resonance by virtue of increased impedance?

If I’m well wide of the mark don’t hesitate in saying so! Thanks.

You really need to look at the overall crossover design. Something that looks like a zobel might be there for some other purpose. I have not used zobel in my designs, but some portions might be interpreted as a zobel if one does not understand the total design.

The rcl zobel normally just helps preventing speaker load variation from effecting amp performance, and does not have any value in improving speaker performance.

The rc zobel really has no particular value at all unless one might use it to further cut high frequencies.
