nobody special said:Do you run any simulations before you build, or do you build and tweek? I find the simulations really help me to understand what is going on in the circuit.
The low input impedance is something that concerned me too... enough so that I don't know if I will build one or not. I think I am going to build a class A p/p of my own design that uses a differential pair input. I plan on triamping, using a buffered passive line level crossover.
I just recently started to play with circuits for fun and as a learning experience so as of right now I have built and tweaked. I have tried to use simetrix but I run out of patience when I can't find the mosfets models I need.
I do other type of sims at work so at night I want to do something else. 😉
I think I will give the simulation a second try, it is too powerful to be ignored.
What program do you use?
I just use the freeware version of Circuitmaker... It at least gives me an idea of what I will get.
I use whatever models are close (they're included in the library)

By a mistake I posted this under the "X-ing Zen V5?" thread, but here it is, sorry.
Grataku, It is my impressin that Simetrix is the easiest sim to use, its quick and reliable.
This link shoud do the trick for you: http://www.penzar.com/links.htm
