My Sony x505ES player is modded with LClock and ZAP filter discrete output stage using its original power supply. After some hours of breakin the circuits most music sounds great now.
What i want to do is upgrade the zap filter's psu because its only consisting of a diode bridge, 2200uf caps and 56R rated 5W. Look in the submitted picture
I'm thinking of building -15 and +15V supplies like thishttp://www.audioupgrades.co.uk/diypsu.shtml
and 7805 or superregulators.
Can you tell me how much current the Zapfilter board needs, I have searched the forums and nothing found. Should I wire the 56ohm resistors in after the psu audioupgrade.uk boards or is it of no use when used after the voltage refs? Thank you

From what understand is
there's a shunt reg on the Zapfilter pcb.

Even if regulated on the zapfilter with shunt reg. codtc suggested that using a sigma22 psu with Zapfilter has much better result much less distortion.

I would think that makes sense.. some sort of 'pre-regulation' cannot hurt? thanks
