In my case , I was naive enough to believe that the ZapPuls 700
XE needed the same voltage as UCD 700, i.e. 90 V DC. I´m not that familiar with Class-D amplifiers.Recently I bought a pair of
2x30 V AC and one 2x33 V AC 500VA transformers (I already owned one 2x33). I thought that it wasn´t necessary to determin if I should use Zap-pulse or Hypex. I also realized, that there was (almost) useless to mail the LC-Audio company, about the demands of the power supply, they would not answer.
Now I´m aware of , that it would have been better to wait and see,if and how the company will give us more information.
😡
I have one Plitron transformer 2x55 V 750VA , with a static and magnetic shield , but buying three more of them , will be expencive, and paying shipping to Sweden will make things worse.
So , right now it all boils down to if I have patience with and confidence enough when it comes to LC-Audio.
I believe the quality of sound from the LC-Audio modules to be excellent, if they work properly.
But I express sorrow about , that what to me seems like the best
alternative in some regards, is connected with other problems.
Hopefully these problems will be solved in the near future .

How is it going ?

Hi Anzgar
Any news about your zap700xe modules? Has Lars got them firing on all cylinders, yet?
krgds
I don't know if I will get back new or repaired modules. One of them should be fixed already (the one with a badly soldered resistor). In the weekend the short circuit protection on all modules was said to be remedied.I doubt that Lars has had the time to look at my second faulty module if he has been busy with the short curcuit protection.
When you read this, Lars, you might want to post some info about this issue.

Hey guys!
I would like to help, but on the other hand these issues are about L C Audio service policy. On which i have no influence.
Maybe it is more correct for L C Audio to answer this kind of questions themselves.

Sure, but they haven't replied to any question so far and I have no hope to get any information now either. The only one there who answered a mail is Lars at technical support and he told me immediately after I mailed him about my misfortune that it was all up to Jens Posselt. Then he told me to send the modules back attn: Brenda, and all would be taken care of and new modules sent.He has no influence over it either.
You are not being asked for to influence the LC Audio service policy but as they are your neighbours and you know them you might excuse me for thinking you can exchange some info between me (us) and the company. You did walk over to them and fetch my modules for testing and you asked them not to send any modules before the short circuit problem was fixed so to some extent you are involved already.

Thankyou Lars
Do you think that Jens Posselt or Brenda would be happy to respond to posts on this forum. It probably would be good if they did?

Lars, thankyou in advance for any help that you can provide, and, if you are able to provide us with any info, please do. Hope you don't mind, but, we'll keep asking

I think Lars' good intentions are clear, however he cannot speak for LCaudio anymore (unless he gets their approval). LCaudio should deal with this matters themselves, in the first place directly with the customer. Of course they really should do this and not let emails about service questions unanswered.
They are not required to speak on a public forum, unless they really want to themselves. I think Lars is a diyaudio member, because he loves to discuss audio (as a private person), just like most of us. Imo if LCAudio likes to inform the diy community about there nice products, they best do that in the Vendor's Bazaar subforum.
I can imagine that things need a little time for LCaudio to solve properly (do some extra testing etc). About 2 or 3 weeks seems reasonable to me.
My 700XE modules are still at the Dutch distributor. As soon as I get a green light that all things are okay, I will get them and complete the amp. I still believe that the 700XE can be among the best class D amps currently available.
Of course it is good if we (as customers) keep each other informed about how things progress.

I agree!LCaudio have a resourse in their website. And if LCaudio is a serious company, they should provide sufficient information there. They should also answer reasonable question sent by mail.
If they don´t , I will probably look elsewhere. I sent them a mail yesterday , and really hope they will answer it.
It doesn´t matter how good a company´s products are if the company doesn´t understand the importance of the concept called market communication.

This is really sad.I have had some listening to the module and I say it's a killer! And at a reasonable price, There is a potential to sell large amounts of it when it's out in the market for people to listen to it.I have friends who ask me all the time, if I got it yet so they can come and listen to it. And like you they are now considering other alternatives. LC Audio doesn't seem to understand the importance of public relations.
I feel unhappy about asking Lars all the time, I understand if he is about to feel that as kind of harassment. He is not responsible for their custome support or sales strategy.I remember when he owned the company one got any email replied to the same day and sometimes within an hour, I even got a ready built dac sent to my door by air the next day in replacement for an uncompleted one I didn't succed to get working!
Yeah, those were the days 😀
Anzgar
Maybe they have some trouble with their mail program, maybe they don't receive our mails?I havr marked my mails to send me a reseit confirmation but I never got any-either they didn't get the mail, didn't look at it or bother to press the enter key to send a confirmation,
Hi Anzgar
When you finally get your improved (Lars improved) zap700xe modules back and running, I very much look forward to hearing about your new listening experience(s) and evaluation(s).
Hope all goes well and keep us informed if you have any info?
Hopefully, Lars can also do that?

No news=good news?
Every morning I think the modules and the ordered Predator psu will arrive today.Every friday night I feel disappointment but I think they will arrive the next week...or the next.On monday I think maybe today?Tomorrow? This week??
Waiting for Godot..

The circumstances are utterly negative to the LCaudio company.
I haven´t got an answer to my mail sent a week ago, either. Many of the company´s actual or potential customer visit this board.
Whatever the rooth of the problems, some form of openness would be preferable to all of us,I think.
If the company has a very good product in the 700XE, maybe the should sell the rights to another company?
Anzgar, perhapes the best way to get information is to call them?

You sent one email and are complaining? Try again or call them. I ordered from them before and my order was dealt with very efficiently. Also when I emailed them I had response in reasonable time.
Remember small companies like this do not have somebody sat in front of a computer all day responding to emails!

Richie,
If the lack of response to my mail was the only thing, I would not complain😱
How many times have I heard/read about the same thing....
You don´t seem to be well informed 😎
I believe all companies are dependent of their reputation.
And when did you get good service from them? A friend has complained about the lack of service for weeks now, and he has ordered things that is delayed .
Even a small company have to communicate in a relevant way with customers.
According to Lars Clausen, LCaudio has the new policy to answer
mails promtly. But in reality ,it dosen´t seem so. Much better service are needed from them , otherwise they may run out of business. I will regret if they do, however.

I am sorry, that claim did not come from me, i have read it here on the forum, just like you. 🙂
I do agree with you, however 🙂

That is not a quote of Lars Clausen but a quote of Lars / Viborg - Tech Support for LC Audio, who does answer mails
😉
Lars,I apologize about the claim!
The sad thing is that LCaudio is a company with many great products. I still consider buying the 700XE modules. I like my LCaudio Patriot amp very much , when you lift the lid it´s very impressing.🙂

Lars you must have been pulling all the weight over there, they seriously need to rehire you and pay you a decent wage!
BTW it stands to reason tech support won't respond to your emails until you're a paid customer. Still they should have some help for information in order to generate the paid customers.
