Hello the community. Someone with some degree of knowledge in laws, can teach me why a video made public in the internet, particularly in youtube, can't (Or mustn't) be download in MP3 or MP4 format to listen or watch it offline? Sincerely I don't understand why. Note I am Electronic Engineer, not a person skilled in laws or legal issues. In any case, please, suggest me any way to do it if it isn't illegal.

Thank you, guy. This is working, but there are lots of them with some kind of trouble (time limiting, internal or unknown errors, etc). But I still would to know why it isn't a simple thing.

Thank you Mooly, but I prefer online converters, because this machine has very restricted bandwidth and any video you can watch or listen gets cut excessively, turning it unsupportable. This is why I prefer to download and watch and listen offline. At home, no one kind of internet.

I installed YouTube Download, a free utility that runs nicely within Firefox and most other platforms are supported.
Just click the download button that it adds on the YouTube screen and select the format you require.
I have set mine up to download into a folder I named YouTube.

Be careful with the youtube to mp3 converters, quite a few have anti social software in them. A couple of times my pc has complained at malicious content on the website screens.

I find I have to use Audacity with converted tracks.
Many have too low volume or need silent back ends or front ends that need cutting off.

Isn't the original Q about the legality of a download? I'd like to hear about it. It is/was kind of OK to tape a radio/TV show, but I've never seen any definitive answer to it.

Youtube are paying the owner of the video to display it through ads.
There is no contract to download it or convert it.

Some people do well out of youtube, the EEVBLOG bloke makes a lot of money from youtube.

Its copyright so you cant download it or download and convert it legally.

Thank you Zung, this was the objective of the thread, over listing downloaders, that there are thousands although most of them are thrash or stopped to work or are limited to some time amount or has viruses, Trojans or the like.
