The rivets are part of the aviation inspired theme. I don't see rivet marks, I see rivets. Perhaps a few too many for my tastes, but unfinished it isn't imho.. Clearly a lot of work, thought, not to mention money went into this car..
Reminds me of a car I saw on Jay Leno's Garage youtube channel - 1938 Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet Xenia.

Kevin, Herb Chambers put an F1 intended for Jay Leno out on the floor at the Union Square location at 1.3M marked with some silly sign like this week only.
